Search for Sponsors of young people – Can you help?

The search is on for business people or individuals to help sponsor four lucky local youngsters to take part in the Funchal 500 Tall Ships Regatta.

The two local youngsters, who will be selected from Penryn and Falmouth Schools after taking part in a competition, will be offered the chance to race a tall ship in this exhilarating ocean adventure starting from Falmouth in September 2008.

It will cost £1,000 per student to send them on the adventure and they are expected to raise £150 each towards the costs themselves.

Consequently funds are now being raised to make up the difference so that the winning youngsters, aged sixteen and above, can set sail from Falmouth to Funchal in Madeira, via the Portuguese city of Ilhavo, in what promises to be the experience of a lifetime.

This life changing experience promises to be fun as well as challenging for the students as they overcome setbacks alongside their team mates from different countries and very different backgrounds.
