Falmouth Tall Ships Association is delighted to announce that the tall ship Artemis, one of the world’s last traditional square-rigged whalers – now a luxurious and elegant sailing vessel – is to visit Falmouth in June.
Visiting on the morning of Saturday, June 12, this stunning 59 metre vessel will be offering sailing trips from Falmouth Docks. The three-masted barque promises to offer a spectacular sail, with a spacious saloon equipped with bar and a deckhouse offering panoramic views of the sea and coast.
The Artemis will be berthed on Queen's Quay, Falmouth (docks security will direct you). There is ample parking next to the quay for sailing visitors. Ticket proceeds go towards continuing to bring magnificent tall ships to Falmouth. Thank you for your support.
Launched in 1926, Artemis worked as a whaler around the world until the end of the 1950s. Since then she has worked in different guises including as a small freighter.
By the end of the 1990s, Artemis was too small to operate as a competitive freighter. With her impressive square rigging, Artemis is now a world-class tall ship aimed at group travel and corporate entertainment around Europe offering a combination of nostalgia and luxury.
Sail aboard Pelican of London
